Air Force 1 is Corran Addison’s third playboating instructional video. Searching for the G spot” and “Reaching the pro state” focused on both wave and flatwater moves, but this time Air Force 1 focuses purely on getting air! This includes the basics right through to the most advanced moves currently being pulled.

The DVD is broken down into chapters, these include:

Choosing the right kit
Establishing Control
Visualisation
Recovery
Set Up
Carving
Air Blunt
Clean Blunt
Cracker Jack
Back Stab
Flip Turn
Big Mac
Pan Am
Air Screw
Misty Flip
Helix
Another day at the office

The section on choosing the right kit is great and includes a section on the correct paddle length for todays style of paddling. Boat features are also covered nicely.

Although the DVD aims to cover Air moves the basics aren’t neglected the chapters on “Establishing Control”, “Visualisation”, “Recovery”, “Set Up” and “Carving” will be extremely useful to paddlers at all levels of the sport. Well worth checking out.

Each example of a move is broken down into a step be step sequence so that all can follow the progression. Plenty of visual examples are given along with CGI to highlight the key elements to each move. For example the direction the paddler is facing, the angle of attack etc…

The beauty of the DVD is that you are able to review each move with ease. Corran is already working on his next DVD titled “River Surfing 101” which will cover the elements needed for kayakers and surfers take advantage of what river waves have to offer.
