A late season trip to Austria this year again, met up with some friends to paddle in Otztal for the day.
We started our summer kayak trip in Lienz Austria, then we went to Riva falls (Italy), then Switzerland. But we were really lucky that we had a lot of rain, and the river Sorba had enough water for the Devil slide in the beginning of August!
Here’s our first (of two) episode from ‘Mama Russia’. We had an awesome month in the heart of Russia, the Altai Mountains that border Siberia with Kazakhstan, China and Mongolia. The country offers some of the best multidays you can ever paddle and the landscape and the scenery are amazing. Really cool place we would love to go back!
South Korea seems to have a whole wealth of whitewater that us Western paddlers have yet to tap into. My good friends over at Creative Adventure have put this superb edit (Road Trip 2015) together showing the kinds of water available.

Steve Fisher takes on the Toxaway River, which is like a one-day version of the Merced in Yosemite. A few trees and bumps in the rapids up the ante on this fast-paced run.
Jonas Grünewald and Nils Dippon went kayaking in California and hit the Upper Cherry. Big hikes in, big granite and tough whitewater. The ultimate stout whitewater destination.
The British Universities Kayaking Expedition is a biennial event that sees a small had picked team of some of the UK’s finest white water paddlers organise and undertake an extended trip to a location of their choosing. Often very remote and undiscovered, there aim is to generally find new stretches of world class white water.
Previous expeditions have explored: Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia & Siberia, Vietnam, Venezuela and Ethiopia. In June 2015 a team of paddlers from British universities set off to explore the rivers of Madagascar. This is the first edit from that trip.

Here in the North East of England we like our whitewater courses steep. The Tees Barrage has two sections the Long course and the Short course.
The Short course is often used for ww rescue training with a low flow, but when on full release it creates a superb, but short piece of ww. Conveyer belt access to the top of the course means that multiple runs can be made easily.
The following photographs were taken today (mainly from the far bank) using a Nikon D7100 and Nikkor 70-200mm VRII lens.
It was Canada Day and all the Americans and one Czech went kayaking. We paddled the Mine run into the Box Canyon. Great times in Canada.
