We’ve have a new Vertical Element four piece breakdown paddle here at Unsponsored HQ for review. Vertical Element are a UK based company who design and manufacture their own custom whitewater and recreational paddles.
I reckon that if you need to use a set of breakdown paddles when on a river trip the chances are something epic has occurred, and in situations like this I would want a set of breakdowns that were at least as good as the set I had lost or broke.
The Chelan Gorge in Washington looks like a seriously fun run. Plenty of nice drops, rock slides and places to watch the carnage.
The 0.4 mile long gorge is grade V-V+ with the crux move being Final Plunge at Entrance Exam.
Storm Desmond hit the UK hard last weekend with an unprecedented amount of rain falling in a very short time. Many rivers in the North were simply too high to paddle. Team Substantial spent another summer in the great land of the Midnight Sun. We were graced with perfect flows, amazing scenery, a great crew and too many rivers/waterfalls to count! In this episode watch as Evan Garcia runs the infamous “Matze’s Drop”, the boys paddle the Stor Ula slides, and a sunny day on the Skøli.

I have not included any items that are no longer widely available, such as the MountStar mount.
The GoPro App:
It’s free and makes the setting up of any Wifi enabled GoPro super easy.
The Contour outfitting system within Dagger kayaks is in my opinion the best system out there. However it does come with a weight penalty. The new Nomad for example no longer comes with the seat tray fitted for exactly this reason.
