Swale On A Pole

Swale on a Pole from Lakesboaters on Vimeo.

Enjoying one of Yorkshire’s finest with a nice amount of water in it. Lesson learnt from the day is to carry splits at all times as a snapped paddle meant an early walk off for myself. I was a tad gutted to say the least, as I was feeling on good form and enjoying the day having previously just paddled a huge Whitsundale beck into the Swale. So I passed the pole onto Josh Litten.

Level on gauge = 1.5

Another great video from UK boater Liam Chambers.

Good Times, with Questionable Lines. Highlights Liam Chambers from Liam Chambers on Vimeo.

The past year I’ve been out paddling all over the UK and Europe. All my favourite rivers and times I’ve had are in this video. Bring on next year, more of that will do nicely. Plan to head to Italy again, with some more of Europe before heading to Europe.

2014 WWGP Entry – Josh Neilson from Southern Underground Productions on Vimeo.

2013 was a great year of kayaking for me. I often get asked what is my favorite river I have paddled and its such a tough question. We often break it down to best single day and best multi day run and I experienced both of these in one season. Continue reading

Sprint On A Pole

Another English Lakes WW classic.

The river Sprint getting the pole treatment, I was accompanied by Josh Litten and Anthony. It was at a fairly tasty level of 0.9 on the EA gauge.

Kent On A Pole

The River Kent is classic WW run in the English Lake District. A superb river when the levels are right.

Kent on a Pole from Lakesboaters on Vimeo.

Enjoying the Kent with Tom Hainsworth at a good level (1.1)

It had been over a month since I paddled, and I noticed it! Too many back strokes and the odd not so perfect line. On the plus side kayaking still makes me smile 🙂

Butte Falls Bender

Butte Falls Bender from Rogue Specimens on Vimeo.

When nothing else is running in Southern Oregon…and one finds themselves in need of some whitewater…Butte Falls is your go-to. Probably one of the easiest and most mellow drops ever conceived by nature, it is strongly recommended that you bring lots of beer when going to a Butte Falls huckfest. Witness the epic bender we had on Butte Falls and check out Dillon (yellow boat) going hard on his first waterfall!
