The Putumayo region, in southern Colombia, is full of rivers. This April 2015, we finally made a trip there. For the first pass, we decided to settle base in the town of Mocoa, strategically located near easy access rivers.

Molly’s Nipple, one of the most Iconic rapids on the Slave. The story is that one of the early paddlers on this river had met a local girl named Molly and one day, while laying on the rocks next to the drop, he decided it somehow looked like one of her nipples… I don’t see it but you’ll just have to check it out in person!

After spending an extended time in South Africa kayaking the goods, team Expedition Inception explored the rivers of Zimbabwe. With a lack of rain EI had to leave Zimbabwe and made it to the Zambezi just in time for the last day of number 11’s world class barreling wave, along with some big ass rapids.
Expedition Inception (EI) is a whitewater journey from South Africa to China. The team will follow the kayaking seasons through as many countries as possible on their way to the finishing point in the Tibetan province of China.

Decided to mix it up a bit and go somewhere none of us had been in a while. If you haven’t gone out on a whim lately, I totally recommend it.
