The Ard Rock is a mountain bike enduro event and is based near the beautiful village of Reeth in the Yorkshire Dales National Park (UK).

Here are a few images from the weekend.

Day 1 – Friday

An early start Friday saw me on Stage 1 of the Ard Rock.

Stage 1 at the top of Fremington Edge

Day 2 – Saturday

I started at the top of stage 2 which is arguably the hardest stage of the course.

Start of the stage 2 switchbacks
Steep with serious exposure
Tight turn on wet ground
Down to the finish gate on stage 2
Very few were able to either ride or walk down
I’m OK
Many riders hit the ground hard

Day 3 – Sunday

It was back to stage 2 on Sunday. With a start at the bottom and a climb up the course to just below the switchbacks. The bottom of stage 2 was still pretty wet.

Still muddy
Focus
Perfect combination of mud and an off camber trail
Drop down from the switchbacks. Sketchy.
Straight blast down from the stage 2 switchbacks
