Don’t know how I managed to miss it but the post below was the 1900 post on the site since 2011. Not bad at all.

Who are HB Canoes & Kayaks? Tell us a little about the company and its history.
HB Canoes and Kayaks is Herefordshire and Borders Canoes and kayaks, a long name which does not fit in forms on on cheques very often but was used because it described the area we aimed to serve.
The company owned by Philippa and Paul Hale started out in 2004 (TEN years ago!) and was basically a farm diversification that spawned from Philippas family connections in the marine, boating and paddlesport sectors. At the time they knew they wanted to do something different utilising the farm space they had, and that was when the seed of a canoe and kayak shop was planted. It was discussed that there was nobody in this area, servicing the paddlers of the Wye Valley and Welsh Border. After a lot of research it was decided that it was a great idea.
Who are Robin Hood Watersports? Tell us a little about the company and its history.
A family run business first opened in a garage at Robin Hood cottage over 30 years ago. These were the beginnings of the business but we now trade from our purpose built premises which are located just south of Leeds, UK. Just off junction 27 of the M62. We specialize in a number of Watersports from scuba diving to windsurfing and of course kayaking and canoeing. We also stock a large amount of snowboarding gear for those colder winter months.
Who are Canoe and Kayak Store? Tell us a little about the company and its history.
Canoe and Kayak Store is an independently owned, specialist trio of paddle-sport stores based in Gloucestershire, Cardiff and most recently, West Midlands.
Our roots trace back to the year 2000 when Richard (having paddled since he was a child) was offered the chance to buy a canoe business. Loving the industry but not liking the company he decided to set up his own – opening a shop in Gloucestershire and leading to where we are today! Continue reading
Here’s a run down of a few of the things that kayakers, canoeists and SUP paddlers may like as a pressie from Father Christmas. All could be useful and all are items that I either own or have tested.

I am assuming that other large bits of kit are already on the list!

A really nice edit profiling WW kayak Eddy Mead. Well shot and well put together. Very impressive.

Eddy Mead is a Cardiff based whitewater kayaker who balances his time between his wife, family, and work against his desire to challenge himself on the river.
This short was shot on a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera in Prores Film Log mode and it was edited and finished in Final Cut Pro X. Continue reading
Quite a few little gems in this gallery from Tom Pattison.

Over the last few years we have seen a huge increase in the fort being put into the paddlesport footwear market. My favourite Idaho based company NRS have developed two new shoes for the 2015 market – Crush and Velocity. Continue reading

It’s always good to see a company take an alternative approach to a problem. Kokatat have down just that with the Idol dry suit. Essenstially the Idol is a two piece suit that is a joined by a waterproof zip that circumnavigates the waist of the suit. This means that the top could be used as a dry top or used in conjunction with the bottoms to form a complete suit. A great idea. Continue reading
