For The Love Of Rodeo

Rodeo has really taken off down here on the Green River Narrows in Saluda, NC. Doing really really slow laps, lapping all features, and dialing in moves for the Green River Games, it’s been one hell of a time. A lot of trial and error, heres a little bit of both:) Enjoy!

First Thoughts On The Wavesport Mobius 49

It’s refreshing to paddle a small playboat that actually feels like it’s designed for the smaller paddler, rather than feeling like a shrunken version of the medium size.

I’ve owned my Wave Sport Mobius 49 for a week now. I meant to post up my initial thoughts sooner but I haven’t been able to leave the boat alone for long enough to actually sit down at my computer.

Playboater Troubleshooter – Episode 3 – Hole Movement Basics

The Playboater Troubleshooter Series is brought to you by Wave Sport Kayaks and H2o Dreams LLC.

This new series looks to tackle the freestyle discipline in the same approach as Chris did in the Whitewater Troubleshooter series, through typical pitfalls, as well as a description of why the physics work, not just how.

In this episode Chris Wing talks about the importance of learning in holes before waves to prevent avoidance mentalities and how our previous positions of power translates to powerful movement in holes. This is a great building block for any paddler even if your end goal isn’t to play, as it is only a matter of time before you find yourself in one.

Playboater Troubleshooter – Episode 4 – Wave Movement Basics

The Playboater Troubleshooter Series is brought to you by Wave Sport Kayaks and H2o Dreams LLC.

This new series looks to tackle the freestyle discipline in the same approach as Chris did in the Whitewater Troubleshooter series, through typical pitfalls, as well as a description of why the physics work, not just how.

In this episode Chris Wing gives you the basics of how the hull interacts when it starts to plane out and how the previous lesson still relates to movement on waves. Waves typically are the most sought after and least intimidating features to play on, but also the least understood.

Wavesport Mobius – Review

No I’m not a great freestyle paddler, I’d never be sponsored or make it on to any team. However I love paddling play boats and can throw the odd end on both the flat and in the rough stuff when the fancy takes me.

For the last few years I have been paddling the Wavesport Project X. It’s a great boat and I have loved owning and paddling one. However I had begun to get itchy feet and very almost switch to Dagger after a demo in the Jitsu. I managed to hold off, thanks to a poor bank balance but have over the last couple of months been paddling the Wavesport Mobius after saving up some pennies.
