As a homage to one of the best UK paddlers around and all round good guy Sam Ellis I thought we’d have a Movie Monday – Sam Ellis Special. Albeit a day late!

Team Substantial spent another summer in the great land of the Midnight Sun. We were graced with perfect flows, amazing scenery, a great crew and too many rivers/waterfalls to count! In this episode watch as Evan Garcia runs the infamous “Matze’s Drop”, the boys paddle the Stor Ula slides, and a sunny day on the Skøli.
From 20 days worth of kayaking in Norway the No Travel without Kayak team have created a series of edits. In this the third in the series we seen some superb whitewater action and awesome video editing. Check it out.

Mariann Saether is one of the worlds top paddlers. Having numerous big water competition wins, first descents and expedition epics under her belt. It is a great pleasure to have Mariann take part in the Unsponsored Q&A series.

In addition I have had a great 2015 season with winning the prestigious Branset extreme race during the Voss extreme sportweek, the Sweet Rumble on the Sjoa (Sjoa festival). I also made it to my first ever semi-finals in canoe slalom in a major competition (World Cup in Pau, France) and placed 24th. Today I also became the Norwegian Champion (beating all the men´s times) in canoe slalom K1, and also in C1.
Superb big water and big falls action. The Oscar McBurney Norway 2015 Reel is very well filmed and edited. One of the best edits I have seen so far this year. The use of the drone to give different filming angles has worked really well.
Here is a short and sweet summery of my time in Norway this year. Big water, Waterfalls and first descents, it was a pretty special scandinavian trip!

This years annual commute to Norway led us to paddle some of the notorious white water in the world as well as discovering some epic first descents made possible by the high level of snowfall. Travelling with David Bain, Oscar McBurney and Anton Immler we visit rivers which are off the standard path and venture deep in to the Scandinavian wilderness.

After an awesome week and Finnish national freestyle training camp in Northern Finland our team change boats to a bit longer ones, and finally Hit The Road to the land of crystal clear waters and endless rapids, Norway!
