Dagger Code Vs Mamba

The Mamba has been around since 2005 with a major revamp in 2012. The Code is Dagger’s newest kayak and has been designed to take the place of the Mamba in the line up.

In following table I have listed the three main sizes of the kayaks and matched although some of the dimensions of a say a middle of the size range Mamba could also be easily compared against the smallest Code.

Dagger Kayaks – Code

A few weeks back I posted some images of a new boat being paddles by new Dagger Kayaks paddler Sage Donnelly. At the time I hypothesised that it could likely be a replacement for the long serving Mamba. Many online suggested that this couldn’t be the case and it must just be a smaller Phantom.

Dagger Kayaks – Code (Contour Spec)

However it looks like I was right on the mark with details of the Dagger Code being leaked online by a number of retailers in several countries. As yet details are not available on the Dagger site.

It looks very similar to the Phantom but from the side profile it was clear that this kayak is a different beast.

First Run In The Antix 2.0

First Run In The Antix 2.0

Towards the end of May the Antix 2.0 mold finally arrived, and right as we were able to get the first boats out of the mold to paddle, some rain hit and we were able to get a low water lap on the Caney Fork. Despite the lower water, the Antix 2.0 made the run just as fun as always, and can’t wait to get back on there with some juice!

We are excited to announce the 2020 lineup from Verus Kayaks. These kayaks have been in the works for the last year and we are excited to bring you the Gladiator 2.0 and the Hellbender. Our goal with these kayaks is to play the river as much as possible and offer the most aggressive designs on the market today. We took the feedback we received from the original Gladiator and created a more playful stern and improved the outfitting. The Hellbender came from our love of slicey boating and the idea of creating a boat that will maximize fun on class III and IV rivers. We are stoked to get these boats to the people by June! Stay tuned as we will be announcing pre-orders in the coming weeks. You will be able reserve your boat in advance with custom color options!

EJ and The Zen 3.0 Hit The Russell Fork River

EJ and The Zen 3.0 Hit The Russell Fork River
EJ and The Zen 3.0 Hit The Russell Fork River

Used around the world by leading whitewater schools as an amazing teaching tool, the Zen 3.0 takes the attributes that made prior generations of the Zen a top pick and improved on them. The Zen 3.0 stays on top of the water and the bow lifts over and clears things better than any previous design. It is a dry, confidence-inspiring ride, especially when the river gets steep and keeping your bow up is important. The hull combines an amazingly fun Zen feel, with carving, gliding, and surfing, while adding a new level of stability to the platform. The ease of staying right side up is incredible, while the confidence it provides is welcome on any river. It boofs, surfs, and plugs…. versatility doesn’t mean compromise! Your new favorite river runner will also be your new favorite creek boat. The high volume design doesn’t get grabbed in squirrelly situations, and it wants to stay horizontal. This is an amazing platform for teaching beginners, while the biggest whitewater begs for this type of forgiveness. Measurements are for Zen Medium. Coming November 2019.
